Tiger Tyson is the sort of porn star who only comes along once in a good long while. After years of driving fans crazy at Latino Fan Club (one of the preeminent purveyors of male Latin porn), Tiger is up there on the same level as porn legends Jeff Stryker, Jenna Jameson and Ryan Idol. He recently set out on his own with PitBull Productions, leaving behind the more affectionate, on-screen persona of his Latino Fan Clubs (we want more kissing from Tiger!) and has metamorphosed into a more traditional 'service me,' top kind of guy. Still, the magical smile and personality shine through as classic Tiger.
Mickey Boardman: So, how did you get into the business?
Tiger Tyson: I started out about eight years ago. Started up as a stripper up in the Web [a gay club in Midtown Manhattan] and from there it just took its own course. I met another porn star from there, he told me about doing the video work. It wasn't planned, it just happened....
MB: So tell me about your first scene. Was there any audition? Was it just show up here at this time and be ready for action?
TT: Yeah, yeah, that's right. They called me the night before and they said are you willing to do the scene or whatever. Ah, fuck it, why not? So I go down, and then actually I was supposed to be a bottom, but I couldn't do that so it just so happened that the guy there that was supposed to top me, he wound up being my bottom.
MB: Surprise, surprise....
TT: At first, it was a little awkward. I had to have a couple of drinks, you know, a couple of shots.
MB: Had you even seen a gay porn movie before this, or no?
TT: No, I mean, I knew about gay life, never about the gay porn scene or nothing like that. It was just all outta the blue, clear blue....
MB: I noticed in seeing your new videos they're different from your old videos in that you don't really kiss, there's hardly any affection. It's more boom boom boom.
TT: I guess when I first started it I didn't know what I wanted. And so it was like, all right, lemme experiment with this, lemme experiment with that -- it was a bunch of experimenting. Now my attitude is, if you look hot, if you're a hot sexy ass naked whatever, let's just fuck. Straight to that. Why beat about the bush, right?
MM: And so are you involved in the casting of the movies that you do, or no?
TT: Very much so. I'm doing a little bit of the directing, as well as the story-making. Whatever scene that you see that I'm in, right there when I get on the set, I decide what it's gonna be. Hopefully I'm gonna be able to indulge more in the directing then it will be me you're seeing on the film.
MB: So how far in advance is the scene planned? Do you wait until the guy gets there and then you kind of let the chemistry happen?
TT: Yeah, usually when the guy gets there, we can decide how comfortable we can be around each other, and it'll just go from there... You usually leave it up to that, when they get there, because you never know. If the guy's gonna get his dick sucked and whatever, he might not want to, but he still will do other things. So it definitely depends on the comfort of both models -- any of the models period.
