DeathbyRomy's Kim Shui Show Photo Diary
Feb 10, 2025
For her Fall 2025 collection, Kim Shui had sensuality, restraint, resistance, power, control and identity in mind. Inspired by artist Monica Bonvicini's work using leather belts and handcuffs, laser cut pleather was distressed and sliced in Western and East Asian-inspired pieces.
"This tactile disintegration of fabrics challenges the established norms of masculinity and strength, a theme Bonvicini explores in her iconic Marlboro Man Prairie piece, which interrogated cultural symbols of rugged individualism and Western ideals," the show notes read.
The crowd was a family affair, as PAPER's Coolest Person in the Room Briana Andalore styled the show, while bestie Richie Shazam sat front row along with Kuby Lin and DeathbyRomy, the alt-pop artist described as "the love-child of Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson."
Romy's New York Fashion Week appearance comes on the heels of the release of her new single and music video, "LA LA LAND," from her debut album, HOLLYWOOD FOREVER, dropping on April 25th — the day that also kicks off her first solo North American tour.
DeathbyRomy documented her experience at the Kim Shui Fall 2025 show in an exclusive photo diary. Click through, below, to follow along.
