Tom Ford Skincare Is Here

After giving fans a glimpse of a potential skincare line earlier last month, Tom Ford has now officially dropped the first two products. Tom Ford Research, a unisex skincare brand, marks the iconic designer's first foray into the category, as he expands on his existing range of makeup.

The collection, now three years in the making, includes three main ingredients: caffeine, White Porcelain Cacao, and Gyokuro. Created by a team of researchers at a lab given to Ford by Estée Lauder, the line uses a combination of "in-vitro and ex-vitro" studies to explore the "science of skin energy" and concludes that caffeine is essential to hydration and skin brightness.

"My vision is to merge breakthrough skin science with true luxury, to create transformative skincare regardless of skin type or gender," Ford said in a statement. "This is the reason I established Tom Ford Research. Working closely with a team of scientists, we develop what is truly remarkable and that which delivers undeniable visible results."

The debut collection features a Serum Concentrate and a Crème Concentrate. While the serum boasts high anti-aging properties and benefits claiming to reducing lines and wrinkles with its specific formulation of glycolic, lactic acids and peptides, the Crème Concentrate comes with soothing benefits for irritated skin and contains algae extract and hyaluronic acid. As beauty continues to evolve, skincare has become a major component of success for a brand competing in the highly lucrative market. It's also why, multiple brands, in the past few years, including both fashion and beauty, have expanded into the space, diversifying their offerings.

Tom Ford Research is relying on its data and driven formula to stand out, with its recent research findings even presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Conference and up for publication in a scientific journal. Given its complex formulation and existing range, the price point of course is high. While the Serum Concentrate retails for $350, the the Crème Concentrate is priced at $450 USD. Both products are available to shop on and select retailers.
