'Feeling Testy' With Louis Vuitton's Shopper Tote
Mar 11, 2025
Feeling Testy is PAPER's ongoing series where our team tests out the hottest pieces from our favorite luxury brands. Next up: Louis Vuitton's Shopper Tote.
Last June in Paris before the Olympics, Pharrell Williams debuted his Louis Vuitton Spring 2025 men’s runway with an inspiration of humanity itself — all our differences and similarities that unify us. With the 82-look collection came a new slew of accessories and leather goods. One particular one that excited me was the Shopper Tote.
An underrated part of the luxury shopping experience is walking out of, say, the Louis Vuitton store with a shopping bag. It’s like a little badge of honor as I go about my business for the day that I treated myself to something nice. And everyone will see that ember bag with cobalt ribbon handles.
The Louis Vuitton Shopper Tote is actually inspired by the brand’s shopping bag, but of course, the tote is made from super soft calfskin leather, a naturally aged cowhide-leather trim, has two top handles with a removable shoulder strap, two smaller flat pockets and a larger zipper pocket, and features “Louis Vuitton” and “Maison Fondée En 1854” on the front.
There’s four styles, as well: Autres Cuirs Monogram (the classic brown LV monogram), green leather with yellow handles, all-black leather and Damier Ebene coated canvas (Pharrell Williams’ colorful reworking of the Damier pattern introduced by Georges Vuitton in 1888).
As someone who commutes through the city for appointments and errands, it literally carried me through the day. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect tote – one that can fit my laptop, everyday essentials and gym clothes — and the Shopper Tote fits everything without being too bulky. Whether on a day that I’m dressed up in a button-down and shearling coat, or dressed down a sweatsuit, the tote made me look and feel expensive yet practical.
