What Will Dolly Parton's Perfume Smell Like?
By Jeena Sharma
Nov 22, 2019Over the years, actress, singer and all around legend Dolly Parton has shared some unique personal beauty tricks. In a New York Times interview, for instance, the country star advised against taking off makeup at night in case, you know, there's a fire.
"I clean my face in the mornings," she said. "You never know if you're going to wreck the bus, you never know if you're going to be somewhere in a hotel and there's going to be a fire. So I leave my makeup on at night and clean my face in the morning."
And now Parton is translating her years of experiences and peculiar creative vision into her very own line beauty line. Starting with fragrances, the upcoming range will also include wigs and skincare, she revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
"People follow me down the street wanting to know what I'm wearing because they love the smell. So I'm going to develop my own scent," she said, adding that she'll probably name it "Dolly."
Although she gave no indication of a launch date or what the scent may smell like, our hunch is floral or fruity.
The country singer also dished on some other beauty trivia especially related to her mega hit "9 to 5," where the chorus was actually inspired by her acrylic nails in the film.
"When I actually wrote this song, I used my acrylic nails on the set when I was writing it," she said. "I did because they make noise and it sounded like a typewriter to me."
This isn't the first time Parton has expressed interest in beauty. In an interview with Elle earlier this year, she said she is working on designing her own fashion line along with her own wigs: "It's one of my dreams — the makeup, hair, and wigs, clothes, all of that sort of thing."
