In honor of 54-year-old Courtney Love's birthday today, here's Love posing for PAPER back in 1986 and making a real case for crushed velvet. As the cover star of our 30th anniversary issue in 2014, Love explained why PAPER is so special to her: "The first press I ever did was for Interview and PAPER, for a [1986] film called Sid and Nancy," she said.
