Why not begin your week by watching Timothée Chalamet live his dream? Hollywood's reigning heartthrob got to perform during his friend and idol Kid Cudi's set at ComplexCon over the weekend, opening the show with a goddamn poem.
Okay, so technically Chalamet — a longtime Kid Cudi nerd — was reciting Common's intro from Cudi's 2009 LP Man on the Moon: The End of Day. Ever the thespian, he performed the piece with plenty of feeling. Pusha T appeared on stage afterwards with Cudi to perform their Kids See Ghosts track "Feel the Love," while Chalamet wisely chose to simply bop in the background.
Chalamet and Cudi are good pals, so the collaboration isn't particularly surprising. In January we were gifted with photos of him attending the rapper's intimate Nobu birthday dinner, alongside Kanye West and Pete Davidson. (Davidson later revealed that Kanye was an unexpected drop-in.)
Another odd Cudi-Chalamet connection: Cudi is set to star in a Luca Guadagnino-directed TV series for HBO, We Are Who We Are. Guadagnino famously directed Chalamet in 2017's Call Me By Your Name, kick-starting the actor's career and inspiring one thousand thirsty Instagram fan accounts. The upcoming show, which also stars Chloë Sevigny, is just begging for a Timothée cameo.
In the meantime, Chalamet is currently taking a brief break from acting. Maybe we can expect him to storm more festival stages in coming months.
