VOLUME 0 Launches Latest Issue at Sloane's
By Matt Wille
Jan 28, 2025Wednesday evening, the PAPER community sauntered into Sloane’s — the new speakeasy in NYC’s The Manner hotel — to celebrate the fifth issue of literary magazine VOLUME 0. Guests sipped cocktails and munched on small bites while flipping through the pages of the new purple edition of the lit mag.
VOLUME 0 publishes new short fiction from up-and-coming and notable writers. Editors John Lippman and Anne Healy launched the new rag last year in order to give readers something fun and offbeat. The publication focuses on “the sordid, salacious and taboo happening everyday.” VOLUME 0 aims to surface visceral short fiction — “shock, disgust, awe, you name it — as long as it’s not boring.” Issue 5 features work by Emma Cline, Nada Alic, Anika Jade Levy, Kristen Roupenian, Jan Carson, Brad Watson, and Zach Williams.
Familiar PAPER faces mingled with the local literary community at the launch party, including Michael Musto, Vienna Skye, Peter Demas, BeauJangless, Elena Velez, Jack Powers, Cheeky Ma, Whitney Mallett, Anna Bloda and Augustina Dominguez — alongside VOLUME 0 team members John Lippman, Anne Healy and Ashley White and PAPER staff.
Issue 5 of VOLUME 0 is available now at volume0.com.
