Billie Eilish Is Making James Bond History

Billie Eilish may not be the next Bond girl, but she's making 007 history for the upcoming film, No Time To Die. The 18-year-old will become the youngest artist ever to write and record a theme song for the franchise with the release of the 2020 movie.

Not much is known about the title track yet, other than the fact that it was co-written with her frequent collaborator and brother, FINNEAS. Speculation has swirled over the past few weeks as to what big name would have the honor of recording the theme song for the new Bond film, but few were able to guess Eilish right up until the very end. The title of the film is fitting, though, since Eilish's spooky debut WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? was basically on repeat all Halloween 2019.

One can assume that the theme track for No Time To Die will be equally as eerie, but we'll have to wait for the spring to know for sure. Eilish is certainly excited about the opportunity, stating that "It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honour. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist."

Perhaps Eilish's Gen Z-centric fanbase will renew younger peoples' interest in the historic series, with No Time To Die marking the 25th James Bond film. It will see a wide release on April 8, 2020, and stars Daniel Craig in his fifth and final appearance as the iconic spy.
