The Surf Spray for All Your Beachy Summer Hair Needs

"The List" is PAPER's monthly roundup of the biggest fashion launches, capsules and collaborations. Scroll through, below, to see August's newest arrivals.

14th Night's Natural Surf Spray

14th Night, the natural haircare brand inspired by Persian beauty and known for its signature Hair Elixir, added a new addition to its range of vegan and clean products this summer: the Natural Surf Spray, a salt-based spray that creates soft, beachy waves for that post-surf look, and it can be used on wet or dry hair. Its founder (and Vogue alum) Negar Mohammadi is an avid surfer herself.

"'[This[ has become my holy grail product this summer as it gives me the exact style I want, without the need for heat (blow drying, curling irons – hot tools that seem simply unbearable in NYC’s 90 degree weather)," she says. "Whether I have surfed or not, I have the most incredible beach waves that feel soft to the touch."

Lucas Ossendrijver is a favorite among fashion insiders. He successfully helmed Lanvin menswear for 14 years, infusing the heritage label with his impeccable taste and refined, Euro-modern ease. Now, the Dutch designer is bringing his high fashion cred to Theory with a new capsule collection for men and women filled with minimalist, technical pieces in neutral tones and relaxed volumes.

"In New York, I always feel a sense of purpose," says Ossendrijver. "People are always going places, and their attitude and the way they dress reflects this. The styling is a mix that feels accidental and blurs categories. It’s the unexpected element that inspires me."
