The Video for Carly Rae Jepsen's Most Sexual Song Is Here
by Jenny Zheng
Sep 19, 2019
As the song does so well, Carly Rae Jepsen's music video for "Want You in My Room" keeps things fun and flirty. It's the latest visual from her fourth studio album, Dedicated, and follows "Now That I Found You," "Too Much," and "Party For One."
Accordingly, the video reflects the butterflies aligned with new romance, whether we're prancing in our bedrooms and daydreaming about our crushes or lip-syncing into hairbushes. Jepsen goes into fantasyland before a date, and imagines transporting to various date-night settings via her bedroom walls.
Of course, there are magical outfit changes for every setting: a lingerie ensemble for a beach date cuts away to a little black dress for a candlelight dinner by the pool.
Talking with Queer Eye's Tan France for PAPER, Jepsen said she feels like "it's kind of all open in 'Want You in My Room.' I've always played with sex in a coy-er manner where it's very obvious if you want to read it, but it's not straight in your face. I think 'Want You in My Room' is probably the furthest. I was just like, 'I'm just going to say it.' It was from the really playful production that I think makes it cheeky, too."
