It's been almost two years since Ada Kokosar, fashion consultant and street style star, launched her footwear label Midnight 00 in collaboration with Italian luxury shoe brand Cesare Paciotti. Since then, she's developed a modern Cinderella-inspired shoe line that shines bright. Using PVC as the standout material, Kokosar drapes the fabric directly onto the foot to form ruffled, architectural shapes that bend around duchesse satins, crystals and pearls. The result is footwear that envelopes the wearer in a dream-like cloud of feminine flourish — a demi-couture product that truly feels new, fresh and exciting when it comes to new labels to watch in the fashion world.
In fact, the shoes, which mostly come in pastel shades, neutral blacks or the occasional signature white and black polka dot prints, look exactly like the kind of thing Marie Antoinette would wear in a modern world. That aesthetic, along with the dark romance of Soprano singer Maria Calaas, came together to inform Kokosar's fall 2019 collection — which was just presented in Paris at the Hotel de Crillon among the ornate gold clocks, stone statues and high ceilings.
For fall 2019, the designer reinvented her classic options such as kitten heels and stilettos and also introduced ankle booties, thigh-high boots, and new flats. She also used pinstripe fabrics and printed some of the shoes with buffalo check print (a new trend, judging by Marine Serre and Dior's latest collections). You can find Midnight 00's shoes at MyTheresa and Matches Fashion, among others.
