Fans Are Mourning Dakota Johnson's Gap Tooth
By Jeena Sharma
Aug 06, 2019There are several things that become the defining characteristics of a celebrity. For Dakota Johnson, it was her gap tooth.
So you can imagine the outrage when the actress, who has balanced credit cards and coins in her signature gap tooth, had supposedly removed it. Fans first got glimpse of this "dramatic" change in her look at the recent premiere of The Peanut Butter Falcon, where she was photographed smiling.
Quickly after, devoted followers started posting pictures of it, and Twitter had a hard time accepting the minor alteration.
"rip dakota johnson's gap tooth gone but not forgotten," one fan wrote. "Logged on to find out tha Dakota Johnson, the only person who should have a gap in their teeth, got rid of hers... please Venmo me during this difficult time," another added.
Others dealt with it in a more productive way. "I'd like to say that I'm a trendsetter and not a follower but I found out Dakota Johnson closed the gap in her teeth and immediately started looking into Invisalign again," one user joked.
Another said, "just found out dakota johnson fixed her tooth gap and i'm kinda sad because that was like her brand but if it makes her feel better i'm all for it u go queen."
While a number of celebrities with identical gaps in their teeth have had it closed, many like Lily Aldridge, Elijah Wood and Georgia May Jagger have chosen to stick with it. Johnson herself did not get rid of her defining feature until now.
