When Trisha Paytas says she's "living her dream," she really means that in the truest sense of the phrase. The LA-based podcast host and meme queen is balancing life with a husband and two kids alongside a still-skyrocketing career in entertainment, including a series of "Trishmas Live" shows in California and New York City celebrating her love of Christmas music and live hosting.

Tuesday night, Paytas took the stage at a sold-out Beacon Theatre to sing some of her original holiday tunes ("Hot Girl Christmas" hits just as hard live, by the way), belt Broadway favorites, bring out guest stars like the iconic Holly Madison and even make a huge announcement: Paytas will be making her Broadway debut next year in Trisha Paytas' Big Broadway Dream, a one-night-only engagement at the St. James Theater. (Tickets for the February 3 show go on sale Friday, December 13 at 10 AM ET and are sure to sell out fast!)

Before the show, Paytas took a few moments out of her hectic schedule to catch up with PAPER about all things New York City, Broadway, SNL — and, of course, to take a few glam shots with New York-based photographer Ben Taylor.

Welcome back to New York. What's your favorite thing to do while you're here in the city?

Oh, Broadway, of course. I've already seen Little Shop. We're gonna see Sunset Boulevard and Death Becomes Her, too.

How was Little Shop?

Oh my god, it was Sherie Rene Scott, and she was fabulous.

Okay, speaking of Broadway: dream roles?

Maybe Audrey in Little Shop or Galinda in Wicked. Or Roxy [in Chicago]. I love the blondes.

How was SNL?

Oh, it still feels like a fever dream. It was unreal, the best experience ever. Everyone was so nice, everyone hyped me up so much. It was amazing.

I know you've done a lot of SNL stuff on your YouTube channel, too. Is there an iconic sketch you'd love to bring back if you're on SNL again?

I would love to bring back "King Tut" with Steve Martin. I was on the exact same stage and I was like, This could happen. My TikTok got 2 million views yesterday. Steve, I know you have to promote Only Murders or whatever, but...

Okay and speaking of Broadway: If you could Freaky Friday and switch with one Broadway star, who would it be?

That's a tough one. Right now it might be Rachel Ziegler, I love her. I'm obsessed with her in every single way.

And what are you most excited about for your show tonight?

Well, I have a big announcement tonight regarding Broadway. And yeah, just doing my Broadway musical numbers here is exciting because anywhere else people enjoy them, but I think New York will really appreciate it.
