Dua Lipa's 'Physical' Causes Collective Gay Meltdown

Leave it to Dua Lipa to feed the gays a pure dance-pop pride bop to end them all — and it's not even harness weather yet!

"Physical" is the latest single following smash hit "Don't Start Now" from Dua Lipa's forthcoming album, Future Nostalgia. If the two tracks are any indication of what's to come, then stans can rest assured that Dua won't be experiencing the sophomore slump.

"Physical" is anthemic, invoking the Olivia Newton-John classic of the same name in a chanting chorus. "All night, I'll riot with you/ I know you got my back and you know I got you," she over a choir of claps and disco-like synths. "Physical" appears formulated to cater to a subset of music lovers who indulge in the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen and Marina and the Diamonds, with production straight out of Mark Ronson's latest heartbreak record. It's pure pop, pure fun — and the music video is pure gay.

Directed by CANADA, the music video for "Physical" is a half-animated romp through a full spectrum of the rainbow. Backed by a massive cast of dancers, Dua shape-shifts through the pride flag, donning every vibrant color imaginable and redeeming her previously meme-worthy dance moves in the best way possible. She shakes, rattles, and rolls her way through a trippy adventure, mirror illusions and all.
