'Dos Angeles' With Willy Chavarria

In the City of Angels, Willy Chavarria had two specific angels in mind for his latest editorial, called "Dos Angeles," set in the neighborhood of LA where creative director Jess Cuevas lives.

"It is a mesmerizing hotbed of inspiration, from the signage to the people to the sun cascading through the palm trees onto the cracked pavement," Cuevas says of Los Angeles. "My work has continually drawn inspiration from the realness of urban life. It's raw, and it's romantic."

Photographer Ricardo Gomes collaborated with Cuevas on this project after discussing Los Angeles as a canvas and its cinematic aspects that exist far from Hollywood. Gomes centers much of his work around LA, so the two were excited to create this vision together. Along with Chavarria himself, the team shares the vision that beauty is where you find it — and they find it in almost everything. Cuevas adds: "The idea of realness is at the core of his brand, and I love the concept of giving life to people where they are and who they are."
