Ava Max Brings Us to Her 'Sweet But Psycho Soirée'
Dec 18, 2024
In true form, Ava Max’s holiday parties are always sweet... but a little bit psycho. So to kick off Christmas celebrations next week, the pop star hosted a special “Sweet But Psycho Soirée” in Los Angeles for all her fans and friends. Music industry vets like hitmaker Bonnie Mckee and Good Charlotte's Joel Madden were in attendance, as well as DJ Mia Moretti who lit up the dance floor late at night.
Max’s new single, “1 Wish,” is her latest contribution to the canon of great holiday music. “I’ve got one wish, every day could feel like Christmas,” she sings on the tune. “All that I need is sleigh bells, reindeer and mistletoe.” She recently performed “1 Wish” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! surrounded by snow and pine trees. This is her second seasonal song to date, following 2020’s “Christmas Without You.”
Earlier this year, Max dropped “Spot a Fake,” which tells the story of "betrayal" and "broken girl code." The single artwork pays homage to the 2012 film Moonrise Kingdom, with Max singing that she’s got a “sixth sense when it comes to a bitch” in its cutting lyrics. “I can spot a fake from a mile away," she warns. "I can spot the fake in her beautiful face.”
