It's impossible to be across all the new music out each Friday. Luckily, PAPER is here to help you out: each week, we round up 10 of our favorite new songs from artists — emerging and established — to soundtrack your life. From the surreal to the sublime, these songs cover every corner of the music world. The only criteria: they all have to absolutely rip.

Song of the Week: Addison Rae - "New York"

"New York" sets the tone for Addison Rae's fantastic debut album Addison. It's laconic and hyperactive, silly and profound, finding Rae singing about the Big Apple with a seriousness that's undercut by Elvira and Luka Kloser's brilliantly intense Jersey club that bounces underneath. There's something a little off about the whole thing – Rae's vocals are slightly out of time with the beat, creating a thrilling sense of chaos. Her singles were fantastic, but Rae makes good on her debut, and "New York" is one of its strongest cuts.

Sabrina Carpenter - "Manchild"

It’s crazy that it’s taken Sabrina Carpenter this long to write a song called “Manchild," right? Her new single is an appealingly dinky 70s-y pop-rock song written with a poison pen.

Ethel Cain - "Nettles"

Hayden Anhedonia knows how to write lyrics that cut to the bone, and “Nettles” is a masterclass, finding her singing a gorgeous, heartbreaking love song over mournful bluegrass.

Mariah Carey - "Type Dangerous"

Finally, finally, Mariah Carey is back with new music, her first since the underrated Caution. “Type Dangerous” is all attitude – and what more could you want?

GloRilla - "Typa"

This is GloRilla's version of a mid-tempo jam, by which I mean: it’s still intense as hell, even if she is rapping over an R&B sample.

Big Thief - "Incomprehensible"

The first single from Big Thief’s new record is shaggy and beautiful, a road song that spans years.

Teyana Taylor - "Long Time"

I thought Teyana Taylor retired from music, but I’m not complaining about a new single: tapping into the club influences that have long hovered around her music, she sounds menacing and alluring on “Long Time.”

King Princess - "RIP KP"

The first single from King Princess’s third album Girl Violence is darkly-toned and lush, taking influence from classic trip-hop and indie rock.

Lexa Gates - "Latency"

Lexa Gates applies her distinctive timbre to this mellow summer day track, a sexy trap track that’s simple and sweet.

Tiesto, Sexxy Red - "OMG!"

I miss these kinds of rapper/EDM producer link ups! This song is ridiculous and a lot of fun.
