Moschino’s Game Show Extraordinaire

Taking inspiration from kitschy Americana game shows, Jeremy Scott's latest collection for Moschino was staged as a live tribute to big hair, glamazon culture and plenty of wacky accessories. Refrigerators, a Wheel of Fortune and game show prizes such as an oven and a red car played their parts as the backdrop of the show. Here's everything else you need to know about the fall 2019 collection.

We can't talk about this collection without bringing up the final look, which was also the most awe-inspiring piece of the entire show. A super-sized cape that was modeled after a takeout (or frozen) dinner dream (also nightmare): Salisbury steak, carrots, peas, corn and buttery mashed potatoes lined up silver takeout tin.

Money Mind

The first several outfits were designed to look like cash from head to toe. Dollar bill opera gloves, jackets and bags graced the runway – recalling the cash prizes of yesteryear's game shows.

'80s Dream Girl

A distinctively '80s aesthetic took over the collection in the form of high shoulders, ruffled off-the-shoulder mini dresses, sequined gowns and tops with shoulder pads. These were not your mother's prom dresses though – with the overdone, sky-high hair and mini bags they felt more wearable, but definitely still ironic.

Miami Nights

Yellow sarong-like skirts met midriff baring tops. In pink, green, red and purple these dresses were reminiscent of the '90s with all the cut-outs. The halter style necklines also added a hint of vintage inspiration.

Faux Fur Throws

Recalling the game show hosts that appear on old school TV, Scott glammed up some of the models with faux fur. Both coats and throws (in vivid shades of yellow and natural tones) were also embellished with metallic accessories.
