Fine Dining in 'Perfect Taste'
Creative direction by Angel Velluto / Photography by Yana Van Nuffel

Mukbang, but make it high fashion. That was the loose starting point for creative director Angel Velluto when conceptualizing “Perfect Taste” — a new editorial that takes the grainy, chaotic energy of late-night food binges and elevates it to something cinematic.
“I find them pretty horrific,” Velluto says. “I was just imagining a 'premium service' where the voyeurism is still there, but the setting and food is more beautiful.” From there, the vision evolved: Who was the eater? Where were they? And who was watching?
Bringing this eerie, hyper-controlled world to life was Paris-based photographer Yana Van Nuffel, who is known for her signature blend of high-fashion storytelling and artificial intelligence enhancements. “Our approach was grounded in understanding the emotions we wanted to evoke,” Nuffel says. “Every decision, from lighting to composition, was made with the intent to tell a cohesive story.” The resulting images feel both intimate and otherworldly, like a fever dream suspended between reality and performance.
The set itself — a dark, minimalist stage — became the foundation, with styling and makeup acting as tools to heighten the visual drama. “Because we created such a dark set, the styling choices, makeup and even the food helped us not only provide exposition and visual character cues, but create harmony and drama within each image,” Velluto says.
