Giorgio Armani's massive 103-look fall 2019 collection was full of outfits that were largely rendered in shades of blue. The designer dubbed the show, "Rhapsody in Blue," naturally. For the co-ed show, models walked down a dark mirrored runway wearing signatures of the label as well as new takes on modern silhouettes. Here's everything you need to know about the show.
The majority of all male models in the show were wearing classic Armani suits of all different styles. Structured shoulders, skinny ties and architectural lapels were all present.
It was easy to spot the most sumptuous fabric in Armani's fall 2019 collection. Luscious velvet for both men and women came in deep navy and midnight black.
Along with classic suit jackets, Armani took the liberty of creating outerwear with a more sporty aesthetic. There were velvet and patchwork zip-ups and a couple of really strong puffers for men, for example.
Armani flexed its formalwear muscles, maybe perfectly timed to the Oscars. Toward the end of the collection, sequins, crystal embellishment and everything shiny sparkled on the runway.
Working primarily with one hue (blue!), Armani added texture to the collection by breaking up proportions with sheer fabric details for women.
