A Closer Look at Philipp Plein's $pectre Watches

One of the glitziest parties during the men's shows in Paris this year was one thrown by Philipp Plein, who celebrated the launch of his new $pectre Watch at the illustrious Hotel de Crillon.

As is typical with flashy Plein productions, the event was an elegant affair complete with immersive light experiences and a live music orchestra. The lavish soiree signaled his strong ambitions with timepieces, which he launched more than a year ago with licensee Timex Group Luxury Division.

The new $pectre line, which is available now at his boutiques and e-commerce site, was developed into two different versions: the $keleton $pectre and the $pectre Chrono, both featuring Plein's signature Hexagon logo and Skull motifs.

There's also a women's range called $pectre Lady which comes in pink and aquamarine and are adorned with a setting of crystals on the top ring. “Spectre” is also the name of the 24th James Bond film as well as the next Rolls-Royce model. Formula 1 legend Eddie Jordan is the Spring 2023 face of Philipp Plein timepieces.

"I decided to create these new styles to have something special that can collect my expertise in the sector and my strong aesthetic vision," Plein says. "This is the result of a lot of research and inspiration, and each style combines technology, special details, high performance, and timeless luxury."

Later this month, Plein is unveiling a more elevated, Swiss-made range of watches at the Watches & Wonders trade show in Geneva called Crypto Kings. In the past week he presented a couture collection with Jacob Meir at his Bel-Air home during Oscars weekend and opened a Plein Sport pop-up store in Beverly Hills.

“I always collected watches around the world," Plein adds. "It is a passion and a key accessory to my style and look. I love to say that a new expression of luxury is born, where speed is key and Time is Now.”
