Carly Rae Jepsen Has Two New Songs on the Way
By Matt Moen
Feb 26, 2019Every couple of months I find myself asking the same question, "what ever did we do to deserve Carly Rae Jepsen?" When the world feels just a little too dark or our future a little too bleak, without fail, the Emotion songstress figures a way to work her way back into our lives to remind us of high school days dancing around are bedrooms, first crushes, and the power of pure unbridled pop.
Last October, Jepsen gave us our first indication of something possible larger looming on the horizon, releasing the dazzling and defiant ode to loving yourself, "Party for One." A self-care bop that was more than enough to keep us warm through the winter, Jepsen returned just in time for Valentine's Day to tease yet another new song with a little help from Netflix's Queer Eye. In the trailer for the upcoming third season of the Emmy award-winning show, Jepsen offered the Fab 5 a first-listen to a new track, "Now That I Found You."
Further teasing the new track on social media, Jepsen confirmed that the new single would be coming out February 27th along with ANOTHER new previously unmentioned track, "No Drug Like Me." A surprise for sure, but we definitely aren't complaining. Jepsen also shared a new snippet of audio alongside the announcement, albeit with a watery filter swirling vocals and synths into one another beyond the point of recognition.
On the bright side, you won't have to wait long to hear both "Now That I Found You" and "No Drug Like Me" in their entirety since they come out this Wednesday. Until then, you could always just stream Emotion again to take your mind off things.
