Caitlyn Jenner Is Joining 'Fox News'

The conservative news network announced that Jenner would be joining the platform starting Thursday during the 9:00 PM Hannity slot, expressing that she was an “inspiration" to everyone at Fox.

This new gig doesn't mark Jenner's first time appearing on Fox; she was previously a guest commentator before signing on full time. She was also interviewed by the platform last year during her unsuccessful gubernatorial campaign in California.

This is a match that... makes sense. Fox News and its pundits have long been associated with views deemed anti-trans and while Jenner herself is a trans woman, she has drawn criticism in the past for transphobic ideology. Case in point: last year, Jenner announced that she was against transgender girls playing sports according to their gender identity. “I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls sports in school. It’s an issue of fairness” she told TMZ at the time. “And we need to protect girls’ sports in our schools.”

Nevertheless, Fox News seems eager for this moment. “She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community," Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement, "her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.”

In her own statement, Jenner mirrored Scott's sentiments, saying that she was “humbled by this unique opportunity to speak directly” to the platform’s “millions of viewers about a range of issues that are important to the American people.”
