Dior's Spring Runway Featured 100+ Trees

The Dior set was a vast space with an array of trees (more than 100 total) positioned in neatly arranged rows throughout. For Spring 2020, Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri took inspiration from photos of Christian Dior's sister Catherine, who had a passion for gardening.
As such, the theme for this collection centered on nature and the "preservation of biodiversity," according to the brand. The trees featured tags hung on branches with "#PlantingForTheFuture" printed on them, with all of the trees going to community garden projects after the show. Layered Looks
The pinafore dress/overall with shirt underneath was a popular styling combination with nods to retro layering.
Garden Party
Perhaps the most obvious references to nature were in the intricately embroidered dresses with floral and plant motifs applied throughout.
Full Skirts
A reference to Dior's "New Look" emerged in full circle skirts, the prevailing silhouette of the 1950s. For Spring 2020, modern finishes and dyes kept it current.
Sheer Fun
Since Maria Grazia took the reins of Dior, see-through dresses and sheer details have become one of his signatures.
Dark Glamour
This collection featured a growing number of all-black looks with floral detailing interspersed to keep it fun and versatile.
