Alt-rock extraordinaire Scott Pryor has released his latest single, ‘Hold On,’ as excitement builds for the drop date of his upcoming debut album.
While Scott Pryor might just be establishing himself as a star in the music world, he will already be a familiar name for those who work in the legal world right across the US. A former championship-winning wrestler and U.S. Marine Scott Pryor became the top 1% of trial lawyers in the nation, always fighting for the underdog.
As if that weren’t enough, Scott has also carved out a significant place for himself in the film industry. As an actor, writer, director, and producer, Scott has helmed three extraordinary multi award winning feature films: The List, Blackbear, and Tulsa.
Scott’s move into making his music came after a lifetime of writing songs, and being inspired by everyone from stadium-shaking rock acts like U2, Metallica, Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters to his father (who Scott asserts was one of the best honky-tonk piano players in the world)

Flashforward from Scott’s distant childhood dreams of making music to 2023, when the ever-motivated artist holed up with the best producers, mentors, and co-writers the music world had to offer, all to help him with his first album.
Scott Pryor worked with vocal coach/producer "Mama Jan" Smith (Rob Thomas, Usher, Justin Bieber) and Jesse Owen Astin, musician/producer (Demi Lovato, Juliet Simms, Billy Ray Cyrus), and his vocal coach and co-songwriter Heidi Huelskoetter. The move to work with these significant names made complete sense for Scott - he doesn’t conceive of doing things by half, so when it came to making a debut album, he wanted it to land with the force of a meteor strike.
The result is songs like ‘Hold On,’ which hits you in the solar plexus the first time you hear it. According to Scott, ' Hold On' is a song about deciding whether or not it’s right to keep “holding on to love or letting it go.”
As with all of Scott’s recent releases (he has shared an impressive nine singles since the start of 2024), ‘Hold On’ has this arresting anthemic quality that makes it so brilliant. The song starts slow but builds and builds as it takes on its own life - before crescendoing in the kind of awe-inspiring way all good alt-rock songs do. His voice has the same gritted edge as that of artists like Josh Homme and Chris Cornell, which means that the vocals always rise to the occasion. Scott’s final questioning lyrics, “Should I hold on, or let you go?” come through robust, with the listener hearing a man at his most fragile and elemental.
‘Hold On’ is now available across all streaming platforms. Scott Pryor’s debut album is set to be released later this year.
