Today in bizarre news, it appears that the conservative corner of the internet have mistaken Philadelphia-based musician (Sandy) Alex G (aka Alex Giannascoli) for Democratic presidential candidate, Beto O'Rourke.
And, honestly, that's not even the weirdest part of this story. As reported by FactCheck.org, MAGA accounts have been circulating a photo of Giannascoli with beer spilled all over his pants. Their claim? That this is a young O'Rourke who's pissed his pants.

For a little context, conservatives haven't been too happy with O'Rourke as of late due to his vehement support of a mandatory buyback of assault weapons.
And their preferred method of criticism? Apparently, it involves captioning this photo of Giannascoli with things like, "I'M BETO ROBERT FRANCIS O'ROURKE I'M HERE FOR YOUR GUNS!" and "'Robert Francis' O'Rourke in college. Drunk and pissing his pants. He wants to be your president in 2020!"
That said, FactCheck.org has verified with Giannascoli that the photo was taken backstage at an NYC show he played in the summer of 2017.
"I spilled a beer on my pants. I was joking around," he explained. "It obviously isn't that funny anymore."
Glad we got that one cleared up.
