Everyone knows that Gwyneth Paltrow tends to pull the "I don't know her" card all the time, especially when it comes to her Marvel co-stars. That said, she recently decided to address the speculation surrounding her odd habit and, honestly, she has a decent excuse.
In a new interview with Elle, Paltrow — who plays Pepper Potts in seven different MCU movies — addressed her forgetfulness by explaining that she has a hard time keeping track of all the Marvel movies. Which, fair.
"I never read stuff," she said. "But it is confusing because there are so many Marvel movies, and to be honest, I haven't seen very many of them. It's really stupid and I'm sorry, but I'm a 47-year-old mother."
After all, as Goop's HBIC, an extremely famous actor and, as she pointed out, a mom, it's easy to see why she may not have the time to watch all 23 films in the MCU.
Then again, we are talking about Sebastian Stan, Tom Holland, and Samuel Motherfucking L. Jackson (though she technically was asking what Jackson was doing on set) so maybe not. Either way, feel free to watch the hilarious moment she forgets Stan (again), below.
