Cult Gaia and Bratz Team Up on Glitzy Y2K Collection

by Trishna Rikhy

Birthdays call for celebration — and with Bratz approaching its 21st and Cult Gaia commemorating its 10-year anniversary, what better way to celebrate than a joint collaboration?

The iconic doll brand joins forces with the renowned fashion label for Cult Gaia’s latest collection, infusing Bratz’s signature Y2K look with the latter’s timeless ready-to-wear clothes and accessories. Bold and chic, Cult Gaia x Bratz epitomizes the irreverent fashion of the early 2000s with clothes so cute, it’s like they were made for a doll.

Cult Gaia revisits their signature styles for the collection, reimagining them through the lens of Bratz. The signature Serita dress comes in variations of bright mesh colors with a snakeskin print, the mini, body-con form reminiscent of Bratz dolls’ early-aughts uniform. Skin-tight flares are introduced, alongside crop tops with hardware adornments and embroidery, chainmail jewelry, bucket hats, and, of course, a Bratz essential: chunky platform shoes, booties, and embossed leather mules.

Not only did Jasmin Larian, founder of Cult Gaia, grow up playing with Bratz dolls — the doll company is integral to her history, as it’s owned by her family and Larian herself holds the position of Creative Director. Influenced by the dolls’ It-girl chic look since childhood, the inspiration behind Cult Gaia x Bratz is a clear fusion of Larian’s two loves, experimenting with the Y2K revival for a savvy collection, bringing the miniature, coveted Bratz doll fashion to Cult Gaia.
