Lady Gaga to Fund Classrooms in Dayton, El Paso and Gilroy

After watching three mass shootings in the span of a week, Lady Gaga is supporting the affected communities by supporting their schools. The star announced in a Facebook post, that she's working with the education crowdfunding site DonorsChoose.org — where teachers can post requests for funding for classroom projects — to fulfill standing requests in Dayton, Ohio, El Paso, Texas and Gilroy, California.

"My heart goes out to those who were taken from us too soon and to their families, loved ones, and communities who are left to grieve," she wrote. "Everyone has the right to laws that make them feel safe in their communities. In this moment, I want to channel my confusion, frustration, and fury into hope. Hope that we are there for each other and for ourselves."

Gaga continued, "Through our partnership with DonorsChoose.org, 14 classrooms in Dayton, 125 classrooms in El Paso, and 23 classrooms in Gilroy will now have access to the support they need to inspire their students to build a kinder, braver world," she wrote, explaining her rationale for focusing on education in light of the tragedies."

She invited fans to join in on supporting teachers, linking a list of outstanding requests on her DonorsChoose page. You can donate here.
