The eerie beauty of the Australian outback is the background for this bone-chilling film by Greg Mclean about two girls and a dude who plan a road trip to a remote meteor-crater site called Wolf Creek. When they get there, their car breaks down and a jovial stranger in a truck offers to tow them. Trust me, he's not from the AAA. Loosely based on the notorious Ivan Milat, the Australian backpack murderer who trolled the highways for unwary travelers, the film is relentlessly grisly. Perhaps this isn't the best movie to advertise Down Under's charms -- but it will make your skin crawl.
