New Yorkers waiting with bated breath for the arrival of the first Lanvin flagship on their home turf, alas, have to wait a bit longer. Following the opening of the first U.S. Lanvin boutique in Bal Harbour last December, the iconic French label continues to test its American footing far from Madison Avenue. This past week, Lanvin opened an impressive second door in Las Vegas. The 3,000-square-foot boutique is the label's third largest retail space, behind Lanvin's legendary men's store on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris and its flagship in Tokyo, and is the first U.S. outpost to carry Lanvin's menswear collection in addition to women's ready-to-wear, accessories and bridal. Inspired by 1930s glamour, the store features parquet flooring and antique chandeliers that pay homage to the house's lengthy history while brushed steel panels, wrought iron racks and industrial lightings pay a nod to Alber Elbaz's playful and sometimes theatrical reinterpretations of the brand. A collection of photos from the house's century-old archives, including a monumental black and white mural, complete the retail floor and leaves us New Yorkers salivating for our very own Lanvin shrine.
