We Love Our Concerts Wilco-Curated!

Alana Levinson
Everyone's favorite Chicago-based indie rock stalwarts Wilco recently announced that they will be hand-picking all of the music, art, comedy, and interactivity at The Solid Sound festival, which will take place on August 13-15 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) in North Adams, MA. Headlining the festival themselves, it will boast the band's only East Coast performance all summer, in addition to sets by the member's various side projects: The Nels Cline Singers, The Autumn Defense featuring John Stirratt and Pat Sansone, Glenn Kotcheʼs On Fillmore, and Mikael Jorgensenʼs Pronto.

While the exact line up has not yet been announced, there are sure to be many perks that make this festival stand out among the rest. Some include the Solid Sound Stompbox Station, an interactive guitar pedal exhibit created by Wilco guitarist Nels Cline and a concert-poster screening demonstration. Plus, festival-goers will gain full access to the entire MASS MoCA campus, the largest contemporary art center in America, and all the exhibitions on display. A converted 19th century textile mill,  MASS MoCA features 150,000 square feet of galleries and the Sol LeWitt Retrospective, Inigo Manglano Ovalleʼs Gravity is a Force to be Reckoned with, Petah Coyneʼs Material World: Sculpture to Environment, Leonard Nimoyʼs Secret Selves and a new installation by Michael Oatman.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 9 through the bandʼs official website wilcoworld.net and solidsoundfestival.com. From April 9 to May 31 tickets for all three-days will be $86.50 and after June 1st, $99.50. These prices include all fees and parking. Get them fast!
