Seven years after his stunning, heartbreaking directorial debut with A Single Man, capital-D Designer Tom Ford has returned with a chic, tense revenge tale, Nocturnal Animals. The film stars Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, with a screenplay adapted by Ford from Austin Wright's 1993 novel, Tony and Susan. In the film, Amy Adams plays a Los Angeles gallery owner whose world unravels when she receives the manuscript of her estranged ex-husband's violent novel, which she perceives as a pointed threat. The trailer is dark and gorgeous, promising a film with equal parts cryptic dread, haunted isolation and smokey eye. Nocturnal Animals comes out November 4th.
