Back in February, The Flaming Lips covered David Bowie's 1969 hit "Space Oddity" as part of a medley tribute to the late icon, and now that powerful cover has it's very own symbolism-wrought video.

A shimmering yet somber affair accented by muffled drums and sharp-edged synthwork, the visual sees the band (alongside some teary-eyed nuns) singing to a church filled with gray balloons -- making for an intensely sentimental tribute that proves how influential Bowie truly was to all of us. Watch for yourself below -- and try not to sniffle.
