Fashion photographer Harley Weir has created a gorgeous video series that profiles the lives, perspectives, and artforms of five creative women living in cities across the globe. These intimate vignettes take us into the lives of a boxing, ballet dancing Parisian actress, a Japanese photographer documenting Shinjuku's gay scene, a Los Angeles beatpoet, a South African dancer trying to inspire her community, and a deaf artist from Berlin exploring the visualization of sound. The series, entitled
Five Women, was inspired in part by the legacy of Coco Chanel and the complex character of Chanel No.5. It was created for The Fifth Sense, a multimedia platform created by i-D in partnership with Chanel that celebrates female creativity and empowerment.
