Tyler Cameron Says He and Gigi Hadid Are 'Just Friends'

Tyler Cameron and Gigi Hadid are... confusing. Not saying that Bachelorette stars can't hang out with supermodels, but it's rare for a Them to date such a Who, right? You can see what Cameron gets out of it, but the PR benefits for Hadid are less clear, unless she's planning on a reality TV pivot once fashion month's over. (This wouldn't be totally off base, given her Real Housewives heritage.)

Maybe the relationship isn't a publicity stunt, but it doesn't seem like true love, either. Cameron and Hadid have been photographed together plenty over the past few months, including at Hadid's grandmother's funeral in the Netherlands in September, but during a new interview with ETCameron stated they're "just friends."

"I mean... that's just where we're at," he added. "Our relationship doesn't need to be public. She's good people, she's an amazing person and we're just keeping it friendly. I'm at the point where I don't really want to talk about my relationships. I've dated publicly, so... I'm trying to date privately and I'm not in love with anybody right now."

Then he went the Lizzo route: "I'm in love with myself." He went on to call Gigi "great" and "amazing" a few more times before the interview wrapped.

What seems most likely is that Cameron and Hadid are keeping things casual, rather than public. This is the first time that Cameron has even gone on record about knowing Gigi, let alone talked about a possible romance. A Peoplesource recently said the two were finding media attention difficult to navigate, so the "just friends" thing seems like a diversion tactic.

I for one won't be fooled, and am looking forward to watching their Bravo show next year.
