Tom Vek's "A Chore" Is Our Music Video of the Day

Gary Pini

Here's a clever video for "A Chore" by UK artist Tom Vek (ne' Tom Vernon-Kell) who sort of disappeared after releasing his debut album in 2005. In a way, it's an homage to the opening sequence of D.A. Pennebaker's documentary Don't Look Back with Bob Dylan holding cue-cards of the lyrics to his "Subterranean Homesick Blues" -- one of the first music videos. In this clip directed by Ollie Evans (Klaxons Gossip, Noisettes etc.), Vek plays a 60's TV host introducing a blonde female singer called Leisure Seizure who lip-synchs Vek's vocals while he holds up the cue cards. His new album is actually called Leisure Seizure and it's coming out on June 6. Welcome back from that desert island, Tom.
