Tips for Today: AD BOOK at Goethe Institut and Grace Coddington at Barnes and Noble

ART: AD BOOK at Goethe Institut
Self-described "net art collective" BFFA3AE put together this e-book consisting entirely of advertisements paid for by artists and art organizations. Tonight's preview party/"networking event" will feature experimental music from L.A. duo Lucky Dragons and is presented in conjunction with David Horvitz's residency. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards.
Goethe-Institut New York Library, 72 Spring Street, 11th Floor, (212) 439-8700. 7 p.m.

BOOKS: Grace Coddington at Barnes and Noble
Vogue creative director Grace Coddington won over viewers of the 2009 documentary The September Issue by playing good cop to Anna Wintour's bad. Her new memoir Grace follows her path from working as a model in swinging '60s London to the other side of the camera, with a chapter devoted to her cats. Tonight she appears with Vogue editor-at-large Hamish Bowles.
Union Square Barnes and Noble, 33 East 17th Street, (212) 253-0810. 7 p.m.

MUSIC: FIDLAR at Shea Stadium
LA surf-punks FIDLAR have been making waves this year with simple, declarative tunes like "Cheap Beer," flaunting an infectious joie de vivre. Local openers Big Ups play a moodier, but no less energetic, kind of punk.
Shea Stadium, 20 Meadow Street, Brooklyn. 8 p.m. $6
