Back in October we almost spit our coffee out when we heard that after 25 years, Twin Peaks was returning with David Lynch directing a "limited series on Showtime." But on Sunday, Lynch killed our buzz after tweeting that he was no longer going to direct the series due to a dispute over money with the cable network (and this after the fact that he and co-creator Mark Frost had already written the nine episodes' scripts). While the fate of the show is up in the air (the director even tweeted that it's likely to continue without him), the cast members can't imagine Twin Peaks without David Lynch. Literally. In this video, actors Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer and Maddy Ferguson), Sherilynn Fenn (Audrey Horne), Mädchen Amick (Shelly), Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs), Peggy Lipton (Norma Jennings) and Catherine E. Coulson (Log Lady), among others, beg the director to come back, suggesting that the show without him is like "a girl without a secret" or "pies with cherries."
Memo to Lynch: Can't this all get sorted out over some coffee and cherry pie?
