We were pretty excited a few years back when National Geographic announced that they'd created a Tumblr and today we stumbled upon its unofficial companion: "Vintage National Geographic," a Tumblr dedicated to old scans of some of the magazine's most striking imagery. Looking at the slightly grainy photographs reminds you of flipping through stacks of old magazines and the effect is just as soothing. Take a break from whatever you're doing and scope some of our favorites, below, and head over to the Tumblr to see more.
