Stella McCartney Showed Her Most Sustainable Collection Yet

Stella McCartney has had a big year. After parting ways with luxury group Kering, her company became a part of the LVMH umbrella, where she also assumed a new role as a sustainability advisor to group head Bernard Arnault. A capsule collection with Taylor Swift for her new album Lover also made headlines, all while she continued to advocate for greener and environmentally friendly business practices in fashion.

To that end, the brand states that their Spring 2020 collection is their most sustainable yet, with over 75 percent of materials marked as eco-friendly. While other luxury brands have only recently made strides toward having a better environmental footprint, McCartney has championed such causes since its inception, and it will be interesting to see how much further it can go as it continues to evolve. Here's everything you need to know about the collection.

Stripes on Stripes

Graphic black and white stripes were printed on tops and dresses, with some converging together in a dizzying pattern.

Utility Chic

Cargo pockets, loose strings, and sporty fabrics added a utilitarian flair to the collection.

Petal Edges

Many looks came decorated with scalloped petal-shaped bits of fabrics on hems and edges of dresses and pants.

In addition to the lace looks, a series of dresses were designed with a-lines and panels that converged into a single point.

Summer Dresses

Sweeping dresses and maxis flowed effortlessly on the runway and were hung by thin straps for a summery effect.
