Sony BMG's problems are growing. The music giant's attempt to sweep under the rug its sneaky effort to curb music piracy is not working. Even as they recalled the infected cd's, issued apologies and put the pr machine into spin mode to attempt to minimize the damage of spyware being embedded into cd's that infringed on consumer rights and could potentially damage computers, the Texas attorney general and the Electronic Frontier Foundation filed suits against them. The EFF class action suit broadens the charges to include 50 million discs released earlier with different software.
Now angry music lovers are taking the battle to the streets. Free Culture @ NYU has organized a demonstration for Wednesday, November 30th at Tower Records at 7pm on East 4th Street and Broadway in New York City.
