Steven Cox and Daniel Silver, the unstoppable creative duo behind Duckie Brown, presented a visionary Spring 2010 collection earlier this morning at Bryant Park. The uninhibited fashion prophets are consistently willing to explore new territory, making our editor eyes sparkle with excitement. For this season, the duo sent a gender-bending selection of fabrics and designs down the runway. The 23-look line-up was filled with sheer short sleeved shirts, bows, patterns and vintage-like trunks all paired with bold-colored lace-ups that are certain to influence the market in the coming year. Seemingly inspired by Julian Kaye, the iconic and well dressed protagonist of the 1980 hit American Gigolo, the collection breathed sensuality -- incorporating a certain kind of femininity in unexpected constructions. As usual, the duo played with proportions and unusual pairings. Among the highlights of this inspired collection were a camel-and-chocolate-colored safari jacket, a pair of khaki shorts with a gigantic asymmetric bow, the Florence-patterned sheer shirt and a show-stopping pale pink classic swimsuit. These boys have really established themselves as perhaps the most innovative and conceptual designer duo in town.
