Scenes from the New Museum's Spring Gala

Monica LoCascio

Last night the New Museum threw their fabulous annual Spring Gala celebrating the legendary artists Gilbert and George and philanthropists and collectors Gael Neeson and Stefan Edlis. With spectacular views of the city courtesy of a 45th floor perch atop 7 World Trade, the "bright ideas, bright lights" theme sparkled off Swarovski Crystal Chandelier installations while guests mingled among the myriad of art world illuminati (Marilyn Minter, Jeff Koons, Urs Fischer, Rachel Feinstein and John Currin) while DJ Alexandra Richards handled the tunes. After a dinner of local, farm-to-table cuisine and an auction of the first and only photographic portrait commission by Chuck Close, the guests headed to the ballroom for the after party where they danced off their dinner to DJs Harley and Cassie, and a playful performance by the Hess is More.
