Isabel Toldeo's runway show Wednesday night, sponsored by Vanidades magazine as part of the Televisia upfronts, was, as Isabel's husband and collaborator Ruben Toledo called it, "a mash-up." According to Ruben, Isabel described the collection as "what time looks like," which translated to a preview of pieces from her resort spring-summer 2014 collection mixed with selections from the designer's archives (some pieces dating back to 1984). Ruben said the night felt more like "a sweet family gathering," with longtime friends of the couple's contributing to the show, including hairdresser Orlando Pita, who decked models out in samurai spit curls and geometric side burns, Ted Muehling, who designed earrings, Edmundo Castillo, who provided shoes from his archives and actress Debi Mazar, who walked in the show.
