Rufus Wainwright Dazzles at Vince's Goods for Good Holiday Party

Rufus Wainwright brought some holiday cheer to the Meatpacking District last night, serenading an intimate crowd gathered at the Vince store to celebrate the fashion line's collaboration with Goods for Good on a set of holiday greeting cards. Wainwright sang a collection of his classic chansons, including "Hallelujah," "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk" and "Who Are You New York?" The cards, designed by such illustrious illustrators as Sloane Madureira, Happy Menocal, Alessandra Olanow and Meir Srebriansky, help to advance the Goods4Good mission of providing basic materials to vulnerable children in developing countries. And, to add even more incentive to sending a Goods for Good holiday card, Merck is matching all proceeds, while Vince is shipping excess fabric to the G4G's Tailor-in-Training program, which provides new and unused fabric to vocational training programs in Malawi that produce school uniforms for orphans. The program has already created 22,000 new school uniforms for children in need.   Among those in attendance at last night's soirée were Alan Cumming, Jonathan Safran-Foer, Kate Schelter, Daniel Merriwether, Michael Karl, Lauren Tabach-Bank, Valeria McCulloch, Mick Rock, Mickey Boardman, Hanuk, Goods for Good founder Melissa Kushner, D'arcy Jensen, Robert Fowler and Chris Schumacher.
