Rihanna Supports Emerging Designer Christopher John Rogers

Christopher John Rogers's Spring 2020 show was a highlight at NYFW. It was a glamorous, joyful affair that culminated in a standing ovation for the designer, a rare fashion week occurrence (there was another one hours after Rogers's show, at Pyer Moss). Rogers is a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, but today, Wednesday, he received another major, arguably equally important endorsement: one from Rihanna.

The Bad Gal is currently in Seoul to lead a masterclass for Fenty Beauty. As expected, her outfits for the trip have been on point. Riri and stylist Jahleel Weaver have made some impeccable choices for the star's trip to South Korea. She first stepped out on September 17 in a white oversized summer suit from Jacquemus and diamonds from Chopard and David Yurman — on Instagram, designer Simon Porte Jacquemus said he was "so happy" to dress Rihanna, and thanked her for her "forever support." She wore Jacquemus again today, a pink dress from the Spring 2020 collection worn over orange cargo pants (the style of the season).

Later, Rih looked particularly glamorous in Christopher John Rogers, in a look taken straight off the runway. She wore the designer's stretch velveteen "Wiggle Dress" from the brand-new SS20 collection to an event at the Shinsegae Myeongdong duty free store, in celebration of the chain's partnership with Fenty Beauty.

Rogers seemed thrilled. He posted a series of adorable shots of Rihanna in his dress to Instagram, correctly calling Riri "incomparable, inimitable, iconic," and adding that she was "looking like freshly cut sashimi!" We stan.

Today was a big day for Rogers, who also dressed Tracee Ellis Ross in a straight-off-the-runway look for an event for her new show Mixed-ish. Even more celebrities are sure to come knocking soon.
