Rihanna's Foundation is Helping the Bahamas During Hurricane Dorian

Hurricane Dorian is leaving destruction in its path, and the Bahamas is its latest victim. Rihanna, a Caribbean gal herself who proudly hails from Barbados, is looking for ways to the people of the Bahamas, where the storm has devastated entire towns. Flooding continues to impede rescue efforts, according to the New York Times, and rather than wait on governmental aid, Rihanna's nonprofit foundation is stepping up to the plate to help.
The Clara Lionel Foundation was founded by Rihanna in 2012, in honor of her grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. The charity raises money, through events like Rihanna's annual Diamond Ball, to support health care, scholarship and emergency relief initiatives around the world.
Rihanna took to twitter last night to share her love for the Bahamas: "It truly breaks my heart to see the complete devastation that #HurricaneDorian is having on the Bahamas!"
"You are in our prayers and @ClaraLionelFDN is already figuring out how best we can help! #HurricaneDorian #Bahamas," she added in another tweet.
It's not surprising that Rihanna is jumping at the chance to help. She never fails to show love to the Caribbean, where she's an official ambassador to Barbados and where she returns each year for her home country's Crop Over Festival.
The pop star consistently combines her entrepreneurial pursuits and advocacy. In 2016, she came out with the Clara Lionel Foundation killawatt Highlighter in collaboration with her own beauty brand Fenty Beauty, where 100% of the revenue from the product went straight to her foundation. She did the same with her Puma collab, which sold Puma X Fenty Clara Lionel creepers to fundraise for the organization. Her foundation was also one of the few to help out victims of Hurricane Harvey, Maria and Irma.
