Richard Prince began his artistic career in the spirit of America by staking his claim. For Prince this meant appropriating the 1977 Marlboro ad campaign. And 30 years later, the faces of America according to Prince, from biker chicks to naughty nurses, muscle cars to raucous jokes, are all on view in "Spiritual America," the most comprehensive retrospective to date of his three-decade-long career.

Guggenheim Museum, 1071 Fifth Ave., (212) 423-3500. Sept. 28–Jan. 9.
